Just a fun picture from Camp Highland
I am glad to update you guys about the team as they are serving in Kenya. Nathanael emailed me today with his regrets that the internet is getting a bit more inconsistent.
Since we last posted, the team has formed incredible fellowship and unity within the community. Nathanael mentioned that there "may" be a great American futbol team called: "White Lightening" - I wonder just how well they are keeping up with those Kenyans!? What a great way to spend time together - soccer games!
Yesterday, Kristin and a few others had to make the trek to Nairobi to visit the hospital. Our dear Emily sprained her foot. Would you join us in praying for her? God has been gracious and she is doing well - a brace and some crutches with just under one whole week at the house in Nairobi before going to KwambeKenya (where there IS a medical clinic! Go God!). Emily will be able to rest for these days, and let's pray that God will absolutely help her, and those in Nairobi, continue on in respite and serving Him.
The whole team will be in Nairobi at the house from Sunday through Thursday morning before heading out to KwambeKenya.
As you pray, and think of, or ask about the Journey 2011 team, consider these words ::
Ephesians 6:10-17 (ESV) The Whole Armor of God 10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. 14Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, 15 and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. 16 In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; 17 and take the helmet of salvation, andthe sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God,"
Matthew 28:18-20 (NASB) 18 And Jesus came up and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
Psalm 73:28 (NASB) "But as for me, the nearness of God is my good; I have made the Lord GOD my refuge, That I may tell of all Your works."
Ephesians 4:23-24 (NASB) "and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and put on the new self, which in the likeness of God has been created in righteousness and holiness of the truth."
