Blairsville, Georgia | Young Harris College, Freshman | Art
Hey everybody!  My name is Jared Roach, and I’m from the small town of Blairsville, Georgia.  Currently, I am a freshman at Young Harris College, majoring in art and seeing how the Lord can use that to further His Kingdom!  I have been involved greatly on my college campus, including Student Government, Underground Bible Study Worship, and much more!  Through the Underground Bible Study, a great friend of mine introduced me to Journey, and I immediately fell in love.
For the past few summers God has shown me a love for others, and a love for discipling while I served at Canal Lake Bible camp.  When I began thinking about this summer, I wanted to do something beyond anything I had ever done and to see other areas where I could serve Him.  Ever since I made the decision to join Journey I have received such a great sense of reassurance in so many ways.
I am most excited for what God is going to do in my life, the lives of those on my team, and the lives of the people we encounter in Kenya.  I am excited for growth, for community, and for the adventure of furthering His Kingdom.

Atlanta, Georgia | Lipscomb University, Sophomore | Social Work

Hi everyone!! I'm Camie Stevens from Hotlanta Georgia, but currently living in Nashville going to Lipscomb University where I am a sophomore. I am studying social work and hope to one day be a counselor. Nannying, being a Younglife leader, and a part of Phi Sigma are what fill my days. I absolutely love people, my friends and family are what refresh my soul. Being outside is another thing that energizes me, and is a reminder of the great love of our Father.

In college during the school year it is so easy to get busy and wrapped up in school work, social life, and all of the circumstances we have thrown our way. I started to realize I needed to take advantage of the summers we have and use them as a time to refocus and recognize what this is all truly about, JESUS. The nation of Kenya has been on my heart for the past year, and He is so faithful in paving the way for me to go. I am beyond excited to go serve the people of Kenya. Our Lord has been so faithful in this process and I am learning that He really does in fact hold the world in his hands. I am excited for the adventure we are about to embark on. I am excited about the growth and the relationships that are in the making. And lastly, I am so excited to share who Jesus is to his beautiful children.
