“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy, and pleasing to God- this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the patterns of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s wil is- his good, pleasing, and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
God’s love is steadfast and relentless. We believe that it is through his love and grace that He is awakening the next generation of believers to his good and sovereign will. He is calling people out of their traditions, their comforts, and their lifestyles to radically and whole-heartedly follow after him.
In Romans 12, we see Paul urge his brothers and sisters to allow God to completely and fully transform their hearts. Through this process of awakening, we see God wake his people from their slumber, and call them to the truest and most proper form of worship- knowing Jesus and making him known. Living a life that is fully awakened to who God is and what he has already done for us, means living and life that is radically transformed by God’s grace and mercy.
So, what does this mean for us? It means that in every step we take as an organization, we are reminded that God is the rescuer and awakener, not us. God goes before us, and he is preparing the hearts of the next generation to know him. It is through his peace, grace, and mercy that he calls people to himself. He is awakening the hearts of the next generation, and we must be faithful to encourage and empower them.
If we know that our vision is to awaken the next generation to Jesus, we have to be obedient to disciple the people God is awakening to himself. It is our role to walk alongside the next generation as they begin to understand who Jesus is, what he has already done for us, and that he didn’t awaken them to “do” something, but rather to simply receive the infinite grace that comes with knowing Jesus. It is through this awakening to who Jesus is, that, as believers, we are propelled into the calling of making him known.
God's using Journey, The Rejoice Project, and Kimbilio Project to awaken the hearts of people all over the world. College-aged students are walking towards the freedom that Jesus calls us to. Children in rural classrooms in East Africa are learning biblical virtues, and God is opening their eyes to hope and salvation. They are then going out into their community and sharing with their teachers, brothers, sisters, and parents all that God is awakening them to. He is using the next generation to awaken hearts all over the world. He alone is calling people out of their slumber and into his glorious light.
