Rejoice Project training has officially begun here in the Invest House! Our Journey interns are preparing to interact with over 6,000 students in the 410 communities. The team is overjoyed and excited to begin working in the schools along side our Kenyan friends. Hannah Woods, the Rejoice Project manager, will be leading our team in all of the different schools throughout the entire summer. Hannah meet regularly with the Rejoice Project coordinators, and plays a huge role in the development of the curriculum in the different schools.
The Rejoice Project is a virtue-based curriculum that is being taught in the schools within the 410 Bridge communities year-round. The Rejoice Project is currently in three different communities, and has a Kenyan staff that cumulates to over 60 leaders. The mission verse behind the purpose of the Rejoice Project is Zephaniah 3:17.
“The LORD your God is with you, he is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, he will quiet you with his love, he will rejoice over you with singing.”
We believe that children deserve to know how loved and cherished they are by the God who created all things. Our goal as a team is to empower, encourage, and disciple the leaders of these students. So, this summer, our team will come alongside and partner with the Kenyan leaders in these communities, to encourage them as they enter into relationship with the students in the schools.
We are seeing, through Rejoice Project, that these 252 leaders and their students have a passion for knowing Jesus and making him known. The most beautiful aspect of Rejoice Project is that it’s not stopping just in the schools. The teachers are asking questions and are seeking truth. The students are going home and sharing the gospel with their families. Because of the obedience of just a few Kenyan leaders, revival is occurring in three different communities. Disciples are being made, and Jesus’ name is being made known.
Today our Journey interns had the pleasure of spending some time with Johannes, one of our Rejoice Project team coordinators. Johannes was a part of the original 252 team. What started with such a small group of Kenyan leaders in just one community has now branched out and become a much larger group with a huge platform of influence. Johannes will play a great part in stewarding our Journey interns into the Kenyan culture and into a few of our trips to the communities.
The interns are adjusting very well to life here at the Invest House. Today has been a day of a lot of learning, but a lot of rest as well. We are so thankful for what the Lord is doing through our team and what he is doing through rejoice project. Please continue to pray for us as we begin to prepare for our time in our first community!
