The team headed out this morning for our second set of communities, the "k" communities! We are so excited because every year this is a highlight for our team and staff. The past few days for the team have consisted of rest, napping, solitude and a lot of reflection time. It is always good to be reminded of the "why" and spend time listening and being still before God. Last night the team had family movie night with popcorn and they watched The First Grader. The movie is great and if you haven't seen it give you a lot of context and history about this country and independence. Blake was the chili master and made an incredible pot of chili and honey cornbread from scratch with Benjamin. Benjamin loves to cook so Blake is now his best friend and the team LOVED the corn bread! We finished that night with some more homemade goodness and L Rae blessed us with an incredible pound cake.. to say the team was happy might be an understatement!
This morning they got up around 5am and packed the bus, ate yogurt, granola and bananas and then headed out. The team drove for about 3 hours and then arrived in the community. Today will be a day of setting up camp, learning about the history of the community, looking at the beautiful landscape and soaking up God's glory as they spend time meeting the leadership in the community.
We can't wait to post more pics and talk about what is happening in the community! Please continue to pray for our team.. pray for health, pray for safety, pray for focused hearts and minds and pray for a willingness to learn and serve!
