Choose to Invest's first annual Run for Orphans event took place this past Saturday and we had an incredible time celebrating what God is doing in the lives of East Africa's orphans and vulnerable children while bringing awareness to the need to be involved. Run for Orphans is the launch of what we pray will be an annual event in Alpharetta, GA and also a way for students across the country to host an event that will provide funding and awareness to the Kimbilio and Rejoice Projects. We had more than 300 runners come out early Saturday morning to participate in the 5K and Fun Run and to help raise funds for Phase I of Kimbilio and for the Rejoice Project. There were more than 40 volunteers who have been helping for months with gathering donations, planning, distributing promotional materials, recruiting, etc. The day was a great example of what a small army can do together for the Kingdom! Our Invest Alumni moved in full force and flew in from Texas, drove from North and South Carolina, Florida, and all over Georgia in support of the projects but also for Edward Phillips, an Invest Alumni and who now is part of the Invest staff.
We can't say thank you enough to everyone involved in Run for Orphans! Whether you volunteered, participated, recruited, or prayed from afar, God used you for great things. We will be posting more this week about Run for Orphans but for now, enjoy a few pictures from the event.
